Thermal Performance
Low E stands for "low emissivity". Low E glass is coated with a microscopic, virtually invisible, metallic oxide layer that improves thermal performance. The primary function is to reduce the U-value by suppressing radiative heat flow. A secondary feature is the blocking of short wave radiation to impede heat gain.
Thermal Features
· Savings on energy costs
· Excellent solar control
· Year-round energy efficiency and comfort due to reduction in relative heat-gain
· Energy efficient window solution for insulating glass units
· Quality thermal performance in addition with high light transmittance levels
· Reduces ultraviolet light transmissions
· Conserves a natural appearance, viewed from the outside or inside
